Yelp Vancouver Elite members gathered on this sunny, early evening for some treats and finely mixed cocktails courtesy of Guilt & Company, all done in the style of The Great Gatsby and the roaring 1920s attitude. Inside this East Van teahouse, we lifted up our pinky fingers and cheers’d to an oncoming summer.
Lounging in Kits’ newest, revamped neighbourhood pub, sipping on a robust bourbon sour. Dining on some comfort bar food with small twists including winning wings (stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped in maple bacon), wok fried squid, and braised pork belly sliders.
One of many beard themed cocktails was the old fashioned like No. 5 Garrison featuring Canadian Club spiced whiskey, brown sugar, bitters, orange peel, and a special handcrafted ice ball. I found the novelty and utility of Killjoy’s barber shop storefront, cocktail bar back, and basement club surprisingly appealing.
The Tiki Bar is a cool oasis of a watering hole and lounge. It attracted a special breed of hipsters to be admired for their dedication for making the trek to East Hastings to hangout, away from the Granville crowds. It’s full of character and interesting characters everywhere.
